Early Life and Education

Vishak G Iyer was Born in Idukki, Kerala on 16 April 1987. He did B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from MG University College of Engineering, Thodupuzha, Kerala. To strengthen his understanding of governance and policy-making, he later pursued a Master’s degree in Public Policy from University of Oxford. His academic background provides a solid foundation for effective administration and strategic planning.

Civil Services Career of Vishak G Iyer IAS

Vishak G Iyer was All India Rank 80 in UPSC Civil Services Exam 2010. Vishak G Iyer is a 2011 batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. Over the years, he has served in various key positions across the state. He has worked as Joint Magistrate and Chief Development Officer in multiple districts, and has held the post of District Magistrate in places like Hamirpur, Bhadohi, Chitrakoot, Aligarh, and Kanpur Nagar. His consistent performance earned him roles at the state level, including as Special Secretary to the Chief Minister and Director of Civil Aviation.

Appointed as DM of Lucknow in January 2025, Vishak G Iyer IAS has taken a results-driven approach to governance.
